A inserção internacional brasileira no entorno estratégico do Atlântico Sul: sua legitimação através da cooperação

Abstract

This paper investigate s the Brazilian movement of insertion in its strategic environment of the South Atlantic. The focus is on legitimacy of this insertion through cooperation projects conducted with African countries, members of the Zone of Peace and Cooperation of the South A tlantic, Angola and Namibia. Two theories are used as the basis for the study, the Complex Interdependence, and the Soft power , both developed by Joseph Nye, the first together with Robert Keohane. Next, it describes the Brazilian foreign policy, investiga ting the priority conferred to South - South cooperation. Finally, it addresses the issue of technical and military cooperation given on the African continent, pointing out the benefits earned by Brazil with this stance.
