A Geopolítica China e seus reflexos na Namíbia: Implicações para os interesses brasileiros

Abstract

The thesis investigates the overlapping interests of China and Brazil in Namibia. Previous observations have allowed the hypothesis that there is conflict and that Brazilian actions in that African country are at a disadvantage due to Chinese economic powe r. The purpose of the thesis is to explore the current Chinese geopolitics, extract from it their correlated interests and actions, compare with those of Brazil, and, finally, test the hypothesis. If there is conflict, the reflexes for Brazil and for the B razilian Navy will be shown. This work begins with a brief content about geopolitical science, whose main source is the works of Generals Golbery and Meira Mattos, excellents Brazilian geopolitics. With these concepts and using the Geopolitical Analysis Me thod of the Naval War College , it is possible to know the determinants and geopolitical guidelines of China and to extract the necessary data from them. The other element for the comparison of interests is obtained from the research on Brazilian foreign po licy for Africa and for Namibia. The analytical axes of this comparison lie in the economic and military fields. In the end, proposals are presented for policy changes and actions to be taken in order to mitigate this unfavorable situation and preserve nat ional interests. The issue addressed is current and about the fastest growing economy in the world, China, and the continent of great challenges and opportunities, Africa. It is hoped that this thesis will meet the wishes of those interested in geopolitics , China and economy.
