Indústria de defesa e segunda guerra mundial: Uma análise para o Brasil

Abstract

This work aims to present an analysis of the evolution of the Brazilian Defense Industrial Base due to World War II. The choice of this theme arose from the need for clarity regarding the factors that influenced the national Defense Industry to be what it is today. I briefly explain the methodology used to fulfill the objectives of the work, mainly using scientific articles, books, and government documents and documents from institutions in the field. After initial considerations, the concept of BID and its historical evolution over the years are addressed. Subsequently, the change in perspective that occurred due to the occurrence of World War II is addressed, where the focus of investments is transferred to the area of Research and Development of military goods. From the collection and analysis of this information, it is concluded that there was indeed a change in the way the Defense Industry is treated and that this intensified after World War II, however this fact did not reduce the technological dependence of the Brazilian Defense Industrial Base.
